My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Hardy, at least, that's what they call me; I'm sort of a big scaredy cat. I am scared of new people at first, and take a bit to warm up to them, so I am looking for a patient home, that will be accepting of the life that I've led, and will give me the time and space to open up and show the real me. I made a best friend here at the rescue, his name is Twister, we do everything together; we get along super well because we have both had a pretty rough past, and have some trust issues in the beginning. We would really LOVE to be adopted together, to the perfect home; though that isn't completely necessary (you would get a great deal though!) If you are looking for a super handsome and QUIET pair of adorable, young dogs, please consider myself (and Twister) and put an application in today!

Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member.

All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.

If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888

If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.

More about this rescue

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all breed, NO KILL, animal rescue organization, incorporated in August 2015. We are a primarily volunteer driven group with a number years experience with animals and rescue. Our mission is to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome, abandoned, abused and unwanted animals in Willows and Chico, California.

We rescue animals at risk of euthanasia in shelters, as well as those surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We are committed to helping the most needy, as well as the readily adoptable.
