My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:6/12/2022

Description:

About Sugar:

Sugar Begonia-Magnolia and her sister Stella were found as kittens with their mother, and have been inseparable ever since. They can often be found laying together, grooming one another, and doing cooperative zoomies. Sugar Begonia-Magnolia loves affection and attention, especially neck and cheek scratches. She enjoys snacks, treats, and wet cat food, preferably with playtime afterwards!

Words to Describe Me: Sweet, affectionate, gentle, playful

Favorite Place to Sleep: In her hammock or on her cat tree; also on her blanket on the ground

Favorite Toy: Sugar Begonia-Magnolia loves fluffy mice and feather toys

Perfect Day: Sugar Begonia-Magnolia's perfect day would consist of a breakfast of wet food, love and attention from her human, lots of treats and play to bond with her human, and many naps and baths with her sister.

Kitty's Likes: Loves to be petted (after doing finger greeting sniffs), enjoys scratches on the neck and cheeks, and along her back and tail. Loves to play and get treats!

Kitty's Dislikes: Prefers not to be held

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Pets, treats, and lots of play

Favorite Treat: Churu and Temptations

Job Title in Foster: Groomer/ Stylist

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Snuggled up next to my human in a nice warm bed

Other Info: Sugar's nickname is Sugar Ringtail

About Stella:

Stella Begonia-Magnolia is a gorgeous long haired girl with amber eyes who is very bonded to her sister, Sugar. She is shy, more shy than her sister, but warms up once given some time and persistence. Stella Begonia-Magnolia loves to play with her sister and chatter at the birds together outside their window. Both kitties enjoy Churu and Temptations treats, playing with their toys (and finding new ones), and spending time with their people.

Words to Describe Me: Stella Begonia-Magnolia is curious, full of personality, sweet, and has super floofy toe beans

Favorite Place to Sleep: In high perches or by the window in her cat tree

Favorite Toy: Any squishy soft ball, especially the glitter ones

Perfect Day: Stella Begonia-Magnolia's perfect day would consist of wet food, naps, playtime, David Attenborough shows, more naps, treats, and lots of baths from her sister Sugar.

Kitty's Likes: Loves Churu and Temptations treats, and canned food (or any food, really, she’s a foodie). Enjoys swiping at feet and pushing items off of workspaces. Is a fan of neck and cheek scratches, and loves to play with her mouse/ ball/ various stolen pieces of trash

Kitty's Dislikes: Prefers not to be held

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Play and treats!

Favorite Treat: Churu or Temptations (any, she loves food)

Job Title in Foster: The empress supreme

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Bigger, and more floof.

Other Info: May take a little bit of time to warm up, but is very sweet

  • Good with Cats:  Likes cats given a proper introduction.

  • Good with Dogs:   Does not care for dogs.

  • Good with Children:  Can live in a house where children occasionally visit, as long as the children are pet-friendly.

  • Companion Animal: BONDED PAIR

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Sugar tested positive for   FeLV  therefore would need to be in a home with other FeLV kitties (or adopt one of the other FeLV kitties in the rescue).  Veterinary care will be provided by Saving One Life throughout her life.

Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at  www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply.

Additional adoption info

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
