My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:3/5/2020

Description:

My name is Tesoro, which means treasure in Italian. But I am also known by my spy name, the Silver Streak, because of the speed and agility I displayed when working as a field agent! After my career as a spy, living off the land by my wits, I came in from the cold to birth my children. They grew up and left home, but I have decided not to return to my life of undercover intrigue. I am ready to settle into a quiet life of napping and free food in a climate controlled environment. Because of my former life I am still a bit skittish and wary of new people, but patience and squeeze up treats can bring me out of my shell. I still crave excitement sometimes, but would be happy to satisfy myself with a secure surveillance window where I can keep an eye on things for you and hunting down and disposing of the occasional fly or moth that may try to infiltrate our home. Do you need an intelligence-trained stealth kitty? I am willing to work for room, board and love.

Words to Describe Me: shy, quiet, food-motivated

Favorite Place to Sleep: Top of the cat tree or a warm, secure corner

Favorite Toy: live prey or stuffed or feathered practice prey

Perfect Day: An early breakfast, comfortable nap, shift at the window, ridding the house of any flying or six-legged interlopersreat, followed by a substantial supper & bedtime t

Kitty's Likes: Tall cat trees with a window view

Kitty's Dislikes: be held or approached too quickly

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: smelly wet food or treats

Favorite Treat: If it squeezes I eats it

Job Title in Foster: The undercover agent

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: retired from The Game

Other Info: Tessie needs someone patient and gentle. She seems to prefer men but does not dislike women.

  • Good with Cats:   Likes cats given a proper introduction.

  • Good with Dogs: Unknown.

  • Good with Children:Unknown.

  • Companion Animal: Not necessary.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Additional adoption info

Go meet their pets

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
