My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

During the COVID scourge of 2020, folks had a lot of indoor time on their hands during quarantine. Lots of puppies were sold to folks who felt they had enough time to raise them during the Pandemic. Dollar was acquired as an eight week old puppy from a breeder and then joined a home with three toddlers. Although a puppy seemed like a good idea on paper, Dollar's folks dropped the ball on his training.

At 1.5 years old, Dollar was dropped off at NYCACC and the culture shock was too much for him. He was quickly rerouted to us so that we could give him some breathing room and a chance to be a puppy again.

At two years old now, Dollar has blossomed beautifully in the country. He is an active, young Yellow Labrador Retriever whose social development is a bit behind the learning curve. He has begun to grasp the basics of obedience training and leash work, so adopters will be able to continue his progress.

Dollar is a large, strong dog at 70 pounds. As an adolescent working breed, he is high energy and needs a lot of exercise, leadership and discipline to maintain good behavior. Overall, Dollar has a good temperament and friendly personality. He should do well in the active adult home of experienced large breed dog owners, whose active lifestyle will give Dollar the action he needs to thrive.

Dollar loves the outdoors and would excel in an active home with folks who love to walk or hike. He is a loving companion, and he loves to play. He could easily join a multi-dog home with other playful friendly dogs of similar size and activity level.

Dollar is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during him transition to a new home. He is in optimal health, and is neutered and up to date on routine vaccinations and health screenings. He has been dewormed, and microchipped.

If you are interested in Dollar, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Additional adoption info

When we receive your completed application we will check your references, including your veterinarian, and then call you to discuss your situation and requirements.. If you are approved for adoption, we can then discuss with you which of the dogs might fit best into your life. We will either arrange for you to visit the dog in its foster home, by appointment, or transport the dog to your home.

To help cover the veterinary expenses of our foster Eskies and to support our rescue effort, Eskies Online will charge you an adoption fee of $350.00. We do not sell dogs. We charge a flat fee--whether the Eskie is a puppy or an older dog; whether it came to us with minimal veterinary needs or requiring major medical care; whether the Eskie makes a short or a long stay in our foster system.

More about this rescue

Eskies Online is a 501(c)(3) Multibreed rescue group that serves unwanted American Eskimos and other dogs in need and finds qualified, permanent, adoptive homes for them. In the foster home environment, we are able to evaluate the dog's temperament and behavior patterns away from the stress of shelter life. Eskies Online is funded entirely through adoption fees, donations and the generosity our volunteers.
