My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petey is an adorable 14-pound, blond, male yorkie that’s between 2 and 3 years old. He’s a little on the big side for a Yorkie, but I guess he needs that much space to hold his double dose of personality. He walks well on a leash, travels well in a car, and gets along well with other dogs. This dapper little guy seems to always be happy, loves attention and appears to be housebroken. He also thoroughly enjoyed an episode of Animal Planet standing on his hind legs so he could get closer to the screen to see the baby puppies. By the time his foster mom got her camera to video this, he had become fatigued from standing on his hind legs so he just stood there glued to the tv watching the baby puppies until a commercial came on. He did not live in a home with children so he will not be considered for families with young children. Petey loves to play with the other dogs at his foster home, so he will do best in a home with another dog and a fenced yard that he can run around in. Petey is neutered, up to date on vaccinations including a Bordetella for kennel cough, heartworm negative, and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. Petey is being fostered in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $815 which includes his $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Petey, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
