My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Lucia (JUMPINWAVES@YAHOO.COM) for more information about this pet.

Ronin is laid back, affectionate, very talkative on his feelings and sweet!  He loves high places, being picked up and getting snuggles. On 3/18/19 he was found in the middle of a road very hungry. His owner did not want him, nor was feeding him. He was adopted that same year and surrendered in 2023 after his humans lost their home. He suffered a medical emergency during the 2 weeks he was left behind with 2 other cats.  He had a urine block and almost did not survive. You will see hair loss in his pictures from being shaved at the ER. He is back in his original foster home with dogs and cats. He is dominant with the cats and wants to be the boss which they disapprove. But he had 2 best friends in his adoptive home that he groomed. He kneads on blankets and gives his human the cutest meow trills! Ronin loves visits on the screen porch with the dogs! For more updates, look up Lucia Wakeman on Facebook and do a search for his name!

Some of our cats ready for adoption can be seen at the following Adoption Center locations:

PetSmart, located at 12835 Citrus Park Dr across from the Citrus Park Mall. Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 11:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 2:30pm only.

Petco, located at 13127 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.

More about this rescue

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.
