Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for our Puppy Mill survivors are much higher than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for all of the animals in our adoption program, we need to request a donation above our normal request. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation in the range of $450- $850 from each adopter. $250 of that donation will be used toward the cost of transport. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home recommendation: Rufio's ideal home is one where he can get all of the love and attention he did not receive living in a cage his entire life. He is very social and would do great in a home where he can go out and about with his family throughout the day.
Personality: Rufio had a very tough life before coming to WISE but he doesn't let that affect his sunny peresonality! Rufio's foster mom says he is, "super sweet, absolutely LOVES meeting new friends while he is on walks." He also will happily ask anyone he meets for pets and attention. He's a social butterfly looking for his forever friends!

Why did he come to WISE? Rufio was rescued from a horrible puppy mill situation where he was used for breeding most of his life. When he was determined "unfit" to be used in their 'breeding program', they were going to euthanize him. WISE wasn't going to let that happen and saved this cute guy!
