My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Furry Kitty Lovers.
Katla is my purrrrrfect and very sweet name.

Anyone ready for a happy and playful princess teenaged kitty to fill your life with a regal companion? I am ready for you...and I'll tell you why you will love having me in your home.

I tease my foster mom and dad when they try to pick me up and I run away. But I will jump up on them when I want their warmth and love. And I sleep next to them too. Ya think I am playing a game with them??? Oh, yes.... There are times when I cannot get enough of my foster mom and dad and other times when I love my independence by looking out the window at the birds. Part of being a teen, right? We've all lived through the teen years....and yes, I am smarter than anyone I live with. Meow....

I started my life with my sister, brother and mommy in a very scary wooded area. No shelter, food. Lots of bugs and snakes. EEEUUUU !!!!! My fosters took me into their loving home along with my sister Mercy. Mercy has a personality that is a little more motherly which was nice when I was younger but now as a teenager I need my own space, too. I am a bit more adventurous. And sometime Mercy can be tooo much of a mother to me. Ick !!!! I need my independence.

Our foster momma and papa tell us that we are the kind of kitties that bring so much love and happiness into a room. Everyone smiles when they see me.

Our fosters will miss me but they say that it is time for me to live in my well deserved new furrrrever home. And as a teenager I am ready to explore another loving home...kinda like going to college. Time for me to launch into a new environment and grow to love my furrrever adopters. And my fosters tell me and my sister that whoever eventually adopts us will wish they had done so sooner.

I have Moxy! Although I share the house with 3 grown man-cats, two senior dogs, and 1 slightly snooty young lady-cat, I am not intimidated. I am very comfortable with my other furry friends in our foster home.
I like to carry "my catch" ( my foster momma gives me little toy mousies) around the house while I am yowling for mom and dad. Momma foster tells me what a great huntress I am and how thoughtful I am for keeping everyone safe and protected from those pesky mousies. I happily give her my prize and walk off to the window to watch the birds feed. Yes, I am hooked on live performances.

I strut and do my thing. It’s never occurred to me that the other cats don’t want me to be part of their tribe. I walk right up to them and convince them to play with me before they realize it wasn’t their idea. Guess I am a very smart and confident kitty. I know how to work the group.

I love wand toys. Watch me jump into the air chasing that flying wand. One of my best qualities is my amazing purr. My trills make every one in the house smile. Some of my hobbies include snuggling in bed with my foster family, bird watching in the morning and evening and trying to sneak people food. I love living with other cats and dogs.

I really enjoy showing kitty kindness and love throughout each and everyday with the other cats and dog in our foster home. Lots of head licks and playing all day long. Heavy napping and cuddling, too. I am a sweet, cute and active little teen who like to kitty giggle and kitty laugh. Now is the purrrfect time for you to add my happiness and fun into your life.

If you are looking for new companions and ready for a lifetime commitment, the first step is to complete the Humane Association of the Lowcountry (HAL) Adoption Application located on the HAL website.
