Abney is a firecracker and full of so much energy ~ she is so much fun and loves life. Her life started as a struggle and we were not sure she was going to survive ~ her sister didn't make it, so we are so thrilled to have this amazing little girl. Abney needs a playmate and plenty of toys to keep her entertained or she will find something else to play with ~ jewelry, car keys, etc. She is making up for all those days she was so sick. Abney is one very happy little girl. Their adoption process

Submit Application

Go to hsnwga.org to apply for a dog or cat. Once approved you can meet the dog or cat at our shelter and take them home.

2.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption fees for dogs are $275 and up. All are age appropriately vetted and chipped.

3.
Take the Pet Home

Fridays: 3pm – 5pm
Saturdays: 11am – 2pm

During adoption hours we have volunteers available to show dogs and cats to the public. For safety/insurance reasons we can only allow those 12 years or older to go into the dog kennel wing of the shelter. We ask all visitors not to stick their fingers/hands into the dog kennels. Our adoptable dogs and cats are viewable through our website. Everyone interested in applying for a dog or cat must submit an application through our website. We receive multiple applications for each animal. Applications for particular animals are based on best fit for each animal based on each animal’s behaviors and needs. An application not being selected for a particular animal does not necessarily mean the application was denied, but just that another application was approved.

The mission of the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia is to reduce the number of healthy animals euthanized in Whitfield County through the continuation of our successful adoption program, aggressive spay/neuter program, promotion of responsible pet ownership and humane education.
