Hi! I`m Rusty!

The dog days of summer are upon us. Rusty loves to spend time outside lounging in the grass and then to come inside and lounge in your home.

He`s a good boy with a fun energy. He would be good in a home with other dogs as he likes to play with his dog pals here. It would be best for him to have older children because he likes to jump up for your attention and he doesn`t like to be pulled and hung onto.

Rusty had a terrible ear infection when he arrived and it was very painful for him and his ears can be sensative so be mindful of this when petting them.

His beautiful chestnut colored coat shines in the sun and he`s ready for summer with you.

If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm.

My adoption fee is $100.00

Submit Application

Interview

Macomb County Animal Control will verify proper preventative care history of past/current pets and verify home ownership/review a pet policy

3.
Approve Application

Once an application is approved the adoption coordinator will schedule a time with the applicant/family to meet the pet.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If a meet-and-greet is successful the family has an opportunity to finalize the adoption.

5.
Pay Fee

Each pet has an established adoption fee and payment can be accepted in the form of credit/debit, check or cash.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Fees very depending on age, animal, breed, etc. Fees vary and are established by the county to help offset medical and care expenses.

You are required to fill out an adoption application that is subject to review. We reserve the right to deny any application for any reason. If you would like to adopt and dog and already have a dog/s, please bring your dog/s with you so we can make sure the dogs get along. If you rent your home, live in a condo or mobile home community, please bring proof that you are allowed to have pets.
