My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

BITE HISTORY NO CHILDREN

Rolly is a happy, playful young boy. He is coming out of his shell as he learns to trust. He is slowly starting to get along with other dogs, but much prefers to be one-on-one with his human. We have started him on pain management and he has become a much happier little guy, so his new forever home should continue this treatment.

Rolly was 'confiscated' by BARC on 3/22.  BARC noted: 'Rolly was involved in a bite case on 3-21-23.  The victim, a juvenile, attempted to get in the kennel with Rolly.  The result was the victim was bitten on the face.  The bite is described as major and the victim went to the hospital for the bite to be cleaned, there is no other treatment documented. Rolly has been timid but friendly with the shelter staff.'

It is our FIRM belief this family was negligent.  Not the dog, not the child.  THE PARENT!

Because of his past, we believe that Rolly is best suited for a home without young kids.

Rolly's ideal home will have no other pets, no children (under 15), and would be best as a 'solo act/only dog' who gets lots of your attention.
