My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dolly Pawton is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Dolly is a very friendly dog. She has never met a person or dog she didn't love. She is very submissive and polite when meeting new dogs. She is AMAZING at playing fetch. She'll always bring it right back to you. She loves water! She's easily trained, as she is easily food motivated. She's great with children, but she can get excited and jump. She needs better training on this. She's a natural comforter, and she comes and licks my kids' faces when they are upset. She could be easily trained as a therapy dog! She has not been around other animals, but given her friendly disposition and how easy she is to train--I can't imagine she would have problems living with other animals. She does like to dig up and ""play"" with moles in the yard. She would do best with an active owner/family, and she is really the ultimate family-friendly dog. We are rehoming her because we got her right before finding out we were unexpectedly expecting a new baby. We hoped we would be able to be very active and adventurous with Dolly, but having a baby has made that difficult. We don't foresee being able to provide an active lifestyle for her for years to come, and she really deserves more attention and activity. She can't be tied up, so please don't apply if that's in your plans. She'll either need to be walked 3-4 times a day or have access to a fenced yard and walked 2x/ day for exercise. She was purchased from a local small breeder, and is a pure-bred yellow lab, bred to have excellent temperament.
