My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Pool! I'm a retired racer who loves long walks, neck scratches, and hanging out with people. Like many black greyhounds, I'm prematurely grey but don't let that fool you. I am very active, and would like a forever home that will take me on daily walks or at least a few times a week. I have a raincoat and I am ready to go rain, snow or shine.

I was an amazing racer, and my track name was Deadpool. I miss it sometimes, and get excited when I see squirrels, rabbits or other small, bouncy animals. Don't worry, if I'm on lead I know to listen to my people and I will behave, but I wouldn't do well with cats and some small dogs because I like to chase.

I have lived alone and with other greyhounds. I like attention, but I also know how to share and take turns. I do need a little time to build trust with people and other dogs, and I will let you know with a little grumble. I'm pretty talkative when I want something, and can sound like a grumpy old man when I need to go out and do my business. Don't worry, you'll get used to it and maybe even over time find it charming.

If you can't adopt me, would you consider making a donation to help feed and care for me and other fosters? Maybe $5 for treats, $10 for a new stuffy or $50 for a bag of dog food. Any amount helps keep us all happy and healthy as we wait for the right forever home. Please go here to donate or learn more about me and other fosters on the Royal Hounds website.
