This helps Loved At Last Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
UPDATE: Hi there, it's me again!! My name for the last 2 years has been Timon, you know, the funny, smart character from Lion King! I know my name well and I am indeed a funny, playful 4 year old guy. My human has unfortunately had to change her career path and that means that, due to travelling, she will not be able to keep me. As a result, I am looking for a new family with whom to share my joy for life. Might that be you? I love playing with other dogs and I really love humans although little humans (under about 10 yrs old) might be a bit too exciting for me to live with.
My current foster thinks I'm a very bright dog as my eyes speak a great deal of wisdom when I look at my humans. My foster mom describes me as a SNAD (sensitive new-age dog). She tells me that this is a huge compliment!
My rehoming adopter has described me as a LIVESTOCK GUARDIAN. Would you hear that?!! She says I have been very protective of their chickens and mini goats. I even defended them from a bear one day when it came close to the animals. I barked and frightened him away. Even though I am a brave guy who loves to be outdoors, I am also an inside guy who just LOVES to cuddle and show my humans how much I love them. Would you like to meet me and see how wonderful I am?
TIMON
Breed: Shepard/Lab mix
Age: 4 yrs
Gender: m, neutered
Wgt/Hgt: 66 lbs / 23-1/2 inches
Energy level: moderate, I love hikes and being out in nature, even sleeping in a tent but I also love snuggling with my humans.
Relations: good with most dogs, children over 10 / unknown cats
Highlights: kind hearted, mellow but playful
Region: Middle East
HISTORY: Look no further... for I have been known as Shini, bringer of smiles and healer from sadness. I would love to give you a marvelous gift, me.
When I was about a year old, some vicious person cut off my ears and tail here in the Middle East. Ends up I took refuge near my rescuer's home. Since often shelters are full, rescuers will treat our needs, then return us back "into the wild", so to speak. They check on us to make sure we are ok and to bring us food, of course. My rescuer took care of me and allowed me to continue to hang around the area with the other dogs.
Unfortunately, when she checked on me one day, she found I had been attacked by some of the other dogs. So, she took me again for care and found a place for me to stay where I would be safer.
Some can survive on the street, some of us can't. I'm one that just doesn't have that ability. It is probably because I am so gentle with others. You can see in my video.
One of my great qualities is my kind hearted nature. I'm a pretty chill fellow, though I do like to play too.
I am very good with other dogs and despite my past, I still love people and as my video shows, I am gentle with children. I haven't been around cats in the same household but, given that I can handle ducks, I think I'll be just fine with cats.
I think I am a pretty average guy when it comes to activity level, more moderate to low even. Once play time is over, then I am always up for some chilled out tummy scratching time.
I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes.
Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website.
*Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
