My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING ***
Once Zippy knows he is safe, he will be your devoted side kick.
Zippy is a handsome adult Rat Terrier mix who is looking for a family to call his own. Zippy is estimated to be four years old and weighs 20 pounds. He was a stray with no identification when neighbors banded together and were able to capture him. One family had Zippy neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is currently up to date on all vaccines. Zippy has been in the same home for a year, but the family is unable to keep him due to incompatibility with their older dog.
Zippy is accustomed to being inside and is mostly housebroken (of course he would need to learn the rules at your house.) While he is active outside and loves doing zoomies in the yard, he is good natured, obedient, and calm indoors. He loves children who are willing to take the time for him to feel safe, so older children are preferred. Once Zippy knows he’s safe, he’ll be faithfully at their side.
More than anything, Zippy loves people and loves to snuggle on the couch or in bed. He also is cat friendly and has a feline best friend. Zippy will shine as an only dog in a home where he does not need to share the attention. Zippy is frightened by loud noises and takes time to warm up to strangers so he needs a family who will help him through those scary times. Zippy can be an escape artist if a door or gate is left open. Fortunately, he is not a digger.
If you think your home is a good match for Zippy, please email Sue at dogs@s2springer.com and describe a bit about the home you would provide for this young man.
