My name is Newton, I am a 5 year old, salt and pepper 81% Miniature Schnauzer and 19% Small Poodle mix weighing at only 9.6 pounds. I have natural ears and a docked tail. Although I am considered an adult, I think of myself as a puppy at heart! Toys are my new favorite thing and I love to roll around in the grass. I recently learned the joys of going on leisurely walks, but I still need some help and encouragement along the way. Potty training you ask? I would say I am about 90% potty trained, but when left alone I need to wear a belly band or stay in my crate to ensure no accidents occur. Other than that, I am pretty darn perfect!
To me, my ideal home would be where my parents are home more than not and can provide me a calmer lifestyle. I may seem a little bit timid at first in my new home, but once I am comfortable, my adorable self will be sure to shine. All I ask is my future family be patient and understanding as I settle in.
I get along with just about any dog. It takes me a little longer to warm up to male figures, but I promise that once we get to know each other, I will never leave your side! I have not been around kids much. However, I think I would do great if they were older in age. If I sound like your dream pup, I would love to get to meet you and see if we are a good fit!
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
