If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Piper was adopted as a puppy. She was described as lab/border collie, but might also have German shepherd, pit bull, and other breeds. She is extremely loyal to her people and will cuddle sweetly all day, but she also has a lot of anxiety and can therefore become leash reactive especially immediately outside our apartment. She sometimes reacts to other dogs or people depending on their demeanor or location. She prefers women to men. She is working on her good girl skills, and she responds well to treats. She lives currently with a five-year-old and lived previously with a senior cocker spaniel. She usually does well at dog parks but can get easily over-excited.
Piper would do best with more space (she adjusted fine to the city life when we moved to Manhattan, but she would be better off in a home with a yard). She needs an experienced adopter who will help her continue to become the best girl. She really wants to make her people happy.
