My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Velvet was a stray being held at our local animal shelter when we pulled her. She was very shut down at the shelter but once we got her to Old Friends she showed herself to be quite the spunky awesome old gal! She has a lot of opinions so a home that doesn't mind a dog with a voice would be great. She loves to supervise all human activities and places herself in the middle of all the action. She would be a perfect dog for an older person who wanted a companionable yet easy to care for pet.Velvet does have a sore neck so doesn't like to have her neck manipulated or to be hugged but she makes up for that by staying as close to you as she can and being your shadow. Her neck is why we say she would not be good with children, they may hurt her by accident. She gets the zoomies and loves a comfortable bed. Velvet is a favorite here at the rescue and we would love to see her in her perfect home with all the attention and love she deserves.
