My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Soshi is a 6 yr. old, 50 lb. Shepherd mix female who was owner surrendered to our rescue due to her owner's failing health. (Soshi had been adopted from our rescue 4.5 year ago). She is an adorable, sweet, loving and obedient girl who likes people but really bonds with one person most, especially females. Soshi is a quiet girl who is initially shy, but responds terrifically in a gentle, calmer and quiet home. She really blossoms with the company of a companion dog, especially good natured, calmer males of similar age or older. Soshi is a low energy to medium energy pooch who still has some play in her when it comes to interacting with a canine companion. Soshi walks wonderfully and gently on a leash. A mature household would probably be a terrific fit for her and she for them.
Soshi is on phenobarbital for seizures, and we are getting her blood work done again to see if the medication is still necessary. While in rescue we have continued the medication but have not given her ingestible flea/tick medication as her owner had, which may have been the causation of the seizure condition.

Soshi is spayed, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do its own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
