Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sally – Female Calico
Born 12/26/22 – Special Needs ( Mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia )
Sally was found abandoned in a box in the cold by a good Samaritan with her brothers Linus and Schroeder. She has a mild form of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. But that doesn’t stop her from being loving and as cute as can be.
Sally may wobble a little when she walks, but she is a perfectly happy and playful kitten who chases her brothers Linus and Schroeder around. After coming into Rescue, it was quickly noticed that Sally had cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). CH occurs when the part of the kitten’s brain that controls motor function does not fully develop. Cats with CH are born this way, and while the condition is lifelong, it does not worsen with age. She has no problems getting into and using her litter pan. She does use her scratch post to stretch and scratch.
Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a neurological disorder that causes sudden jerky movements, uncoordinated motion and loss of balance. It happens when the kitten's brain doesn't fully develop before birth. CH is non treatable, but it does not cause any harm. The cats are not in pain -- they are just a little different! They need special love and attention to care for their special needs, but they can live full, healthy lives just like any other cat!
Although Sally may always wobble when she walks, it does not stop her from participating in her favorite kitten activities such as tussling with her brothers and running around chasing them . She has no idea that she is different than any other kitty!
Cats with CH:
Are not in any pain
Are not contagious
Have a normal life expectancy
Live happy, healthy lives
Learn to adapt their abilities and compensate over time
Can be spayed/neutered safely
Sally’s adoption fee is: $150
This includes: Spay, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, pyrantel dewormer, FELV/FIV Testing and microchip.
Our adoption application can be found on our website: https://kittiesforkeepsrescue.com/applications
Priority will be given to anyone who has had experience with a CH Kitten.
