My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

-Written by S'more, a 5-month-old female, 47lb Great Pyrenees, possibly mixed with Anatolian Shepherd.
---------------------------------------------

People often look at me and think that I am the cutest baby around. And who can blame them? I am a gorgeous smoky brindle and white pup, who loves to smile. Along with that, I have a very sweet personality. What people don't know about me is despite my cuteness I didn't grow up being loved and adored.

My last family wasn't too fond of my siblings and I. We ate too much. We got into things. We wanted their attention and love. I don't know if they tried rehoming some of us and couldn't or maybe they just wanted us gone quicker than that. They ended up dumping us in the middle of nowhere and leaving us to fend for ourselves. It was myself and three of my siblings. We were just babies. We had no idea how to survive on our own. We ended up roaming the countryside for who knows how long before we met up with a very nice dog. She saw us wandering around and came up to us. She asked what we were doing all by ourselves and we told her we didn't have a home and were lost. She ended up taking us under her paw and brought us back home with her. You could say that her owner was quite surprised when we showed up but she was very kind. She tried helping us find our owners but no one ever reclaimed us. She ended up finding homes for all my siblings but for some reason...I was the only one left. I don't know why no one took me, but the lady could no longer keep me because her older dog was not a fan of a playful puppy like me. She ended up reaching out to this rescue, and that is how I joined PPFT!

I am the kind of girl that tries to go with the flow. Sure, I was nervous about going somewhere new and this time without my siblings. I also knew that everything would be okay though. It didn't take me long to settle in and I do a wonderful job of matching the energy of the household. I am definitely a TOY DOG! I love playing with all dog toys. I also love all the white stuffing that seems to explode out of the toy when I chew it up...afterward, it looks like it snowed...I mean how cool is that?! I don't only like to chew on toys though. I will also give chase if you throw my ball or toy and am working on bringing it back! So, those who love playing fetch, you can count on me to play with you! I haven't had any experience with water besides getting a bath. I did really well so think that I may have fun splashing around in a kiddie pool.

Now I haven't been too many places but in the few places I have been, I did well. I think I would be perfect for a family that likes to do things during the day, and then come home and just chill! I do well on car rides, so would definitely be okay if my new owner wanted to bring me places with them. I have been on leash walks around the neighborhood. I am a pretty good leash walker(if I do say so myself), but may tangle you in my leash- when I get very excited and try to check out ALL the smells at once. Then, I tend to dart around a bit, but my foster is working with me on this and I am getting better. I can be a little shy around strangers, but quickly warm up once I realize that I can get pets and attention from new people. I am also not a big jumper. If I am super excited I may jump, but I am not an excessive jumper. I am quite the social girl with other dogs and love playing with the other dogs in my foster home. I will happily go and introduce myself to new dogs, and try to get them to play with me! I am not being fostered around any cats. I have heard that sometimes they like to taunt us dogs, so I may try and give chase if they run. However, if they were calm and chill I figure I would probably lose interest after a few sniffs. I also don't have any kids in my foster home. I am a very sweet girl so I can't see myself not liking them. I can be playful though, so it may be better that they are older so I don't accidentally knock them over or hurt them during play.

I learned frrom the other dogs that being potty trained is important to many people. That means that I don't have any accidents in the house. I have been working really hard on this, and am happy to report that I am indeed potty trained. I am still a puppy though so hopefully my new family won't make me wait too long in between potty breaks. I am also kenneled trained for those that are interested in that. I have not been a big chewer in my foster home and do a good job of sticking to my toys. However, a puppy can only have so much willpower. I ask that my new family help me keep my good girl status and not leave tempting things out like shoes, remotes, kids toys, etc. I am not what you would call a big barker. Now don't get me wrong, I do bark some but nothing that would be out of the ordinary for a dog. ;)

That is all I have to share about myself. I really hope that we are a match. The app to adopt me can be found at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Please I am begging you though, only apply to adopt me if you can keep me forever. If you can't keep me through ALL of life's changes, don't be the one that makes me have to be passed around a few months/years down the line. That just isn't fair to me.

I would NEVER give up on you, so please don't give up on me. I want to be your forever...not your until dog.

FROM HER FOSTER MOM 🐾 ↓

~S'more is a 5 month old mix breed pup. We think she might be a pyr/anatolian mix, but it is hard to tell- she is striking! She weighs 47pounds. We don't think she'll be much bigger, maybe the 55 pound range? S'more has a gorgeous brown brindle fluffy coat, and the cutest little white paws and feet- we call them marshmallow paws. Her coat is on the longer side, and VERY soft. She adores pets, rubs, and cuddles from her foster humans. She is a HUGE sweetheart! S'more loves playing with the other dogs in her foster home, and especially loves spending time with her foster humans. We have enjoyed fostering her so much!

S'more's ideal home would have another dog for her to play with. She is a social butterfly and LOVES playing with other dogs. Her favorite game is chase. She will chase tennis balls. S'more's personality is on the calmer side, but she is still a puppy and loves to play. She adores cuddles and pets from her foster humans. She is huge sweetheart!~
