My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charlie, the charming canine companion who seamlessly blends playfulness with gentlemanly manners. At home, Charlie is a nap enthusiast, occasionally indulging in spirited play, showcasing his love for toys, tug-of-war, and tricks, all with an extra dose of enthusiasm if treats are involved. A refined roommate, he`s considerate during bedtime, opting for his own bed if he senses you`re already asleep.

When left alone, Charlie`s serene disposition prevails; he enjoys peaceful snoozes and exhibits impeccable behavior, never resorting to destructive habits. During walks, Charlie`s easy-going nature shines, although he maintains a watchful eye on his surroundings, displaying some dog and prey reactivity that`s steadily improving with training.

Beyond his endearing antics, Charlie embraces occasional dress-up sessions and grooming routines, showcasing his adaptability. He has mastered basic tricks and loves to engage in a game of `What is That?` upon hearing the magic phrase. A vigilant guardian, Charlie doubles as a free security system, alerting the household to potential visitors with his distinctive barks.

While in foster he has learned touch, spin, and speak! He’s super smart. He also enjoys the occasional hide and seek though he whines and cries if he can’t find you.

With an array of quirks, from his curious head turns to daily rolls during walks, Charlie is a bundle of joy ready to add warmth and entertainment to any home. Whether he`s charming new acquaintances or cozying up for some well-deserved pets, Charlie is truly a four-legged treasure waiting to make someone`s heart his forever home.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
