My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jack — your future best friend and adventure buddy! At 3 years old and 60 pounds of handsome, this soulful German Shepherd has already lived through so much, having been found in rough shape beneath a freeway.  Jack has spent almost 3 long years patiently waiting at Pet Harbor, watching his kennel mates find their happily-ever-afters. But his tail still wags with hope every time someone new walks by, wishing that today might finally be his day.
Jack’s spirit shines brightest when he receives affection—he adores being close to people, sharing quiet moments, and getting plenty of scritches! He also aims to please and loves to have a job to do. Jack learns quickly and has so much potential to be a forever student!

Another doggo friend would be a huge bonus; his best pal Canelo can vouch for how fun Jack is to hang out with! Jack even taught Canelo the fine art of splashing in the water bowl — one of his favorite goofy hobbies, along with collecting (but not necessarily eating) treats.

Jack is brimming with love and dreams of finding a home where he is cherished—not overlooked.

He has made an incredible comeback and is now ready to start the best chapter of his life — with you!

Adoption fee: 550
Jack is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines. Pet Harbor’s adoption process begins with filling out an application, followed by an in-person meet and greet at our rescue, then we require having a home check. We adopt to the South Bay and surrounding Los Angeles area. We unfortunately do not have the resources to adopt out of state.
