My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PENDING MEET & GREET

Little Farley Fetch was being given away with little care or concern about what happened to him, and luckily through the awesome rescue network we're a part of, we got our hands on him.

He is rip-roaring ready to go, as in 24-7! This puppy energy he has is exactly what it should be, though now that we've ended his days of picking up chicks (snip-snip) we expect that vim and vigor to go down when his testosterone does! We're working his housetraining – the neuter will help with that also.

He's been quite the pincushion with vaccines, bloodworks and will soon be getting his pearly whites shined and polished.

This bar of chocolate will need activity in his day to keep him healthy and out of mischief. His fosters nicknamed him Chocolate Thunder, as the sound of his feet running thru the house makes a rather loud sound as he expels his energy. He's got a big prey drive, and we wouldn't recommend he live with rabbits or other small critters. He may be okay with cats if he got a good warning claw-swipe from one, but he's NOT been cat tested.

He should stay leashed on a harness unless he's in an enclosed area at least until his adopter knows him well enough to trust him- though he may never be truly trustworthy (because dachshund).

If you are interested in adopting Farley Fetch, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Farley Fetch's adoption fee is $600.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Farley Fetch will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.

Almost every dog's veterinary expense is greater than our adoption fees; we are a non-profit.

**Farley Fetch is a Legacy Dog. Legacy Dogs are highly adaptable dogs that can assist other dogs in our rescue with their vetting bills.**

Legacy dogs have a much higher desirability quotient. They're young, healthy and usually purebreds. These dogs leave a financial legacy for those animals who need extra help - whether they need extensive medical care or just a little more time to find a loving home.

(And they still cost less than going to a breeder!)

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.

Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.

DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
