My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Midge is the most snaggle-toothed pup we've ever seen! She was recently rescued from a shelter in Texas - this sweet girl is about 8 years old and weighs 13 pounds.

Midge is a laid back girl and she just wants to follow you around everywhere. She gets along with other dogs and she's currently living with 2 cats and has been absolutely fine with them. Midge is well behaved in the car, loves her daily walks and has no problem keeping up with the 4 year old dogs in her foster home!

Midge is house trained for the most part but if she is left alone for longer than 6 hours during the day, she might have an accident. She sleeps through the night without an accident as long as she sleeps in the same room with her people.

Midge recently had surgery to close up a fistula (hole) in the roof of her mouth. There is a chance that she may need more surgery in the future. She also had a number of bad teeth removed but she is still the snaggle-toothed girl we love!

The first step is to submit an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org. Volunteers will process your application. Please be patient!

Home Check

In a very very small number of situations, a home check may be needed if we have any questions or concerns after processing the application.

Meet the Pet

A meet and greet will be arranged for approved applicants with you and your entire family including your current pets.

Adult Dog: 375.00
Senior Dog: 200.00
Puppy: 375.00 + 100.00 refundable spay/neuter deposit
All adopters must complete application and be approved by the rescue.

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals.
