My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Hamlet. I am a DSH grey tabby & black male with a left ear tip. I have learned so much about human love with Wild Blue, and am a sweetheart! I am a special needs kitty as I have severely limited vision and I've been diagnosed with diabetes. My caregivers have taught me to trust and be totally agreeable with my daily insulin shots. I used to get startled with unfamiliar sounds and smells, and needed a calm assuring voice during approach, but now I am much more comfortable in meeting new friends. I am very comfortable in my room, and I know where everything is. It still takes some time to get to know new smells/people when they visit me, but my trust is "humans are friends". I love pets on my head and cheeks, and then lean in for full body pets. I have almost grasped the concept of loving laps, but everyone's lap is so different, I'm still working that out. I initially came to Wild Blue and lived in Maya's Village in my own safe outdoor enclosure. My caretakers were great, but my health declined and that's when it was discovered that I had diabetes and I needed daily insulin shots with a special scheduled diet plan. My fur was severely matted back then so I was shaved, and now my fur is super soft. I like being brushed. I have learned to use the litter box. I feel ready to find my own forever home to enjoy many more years indoors with a patient human who is familiar with diabetic cats and willing to care for my special needs. My estimated DOB is 10/29/16. I will need a consistent home where my environment doesn't change and I can learn how to maneuver around and oh, no stairs.
