Lyra, fka Maddie, is a beautiful DLH black female born approximately 11/11/2020. Her fur has golden highlights with a collar of soft fur around her face.

Lyra (pronounced Leer-ah) and her sister, Luna, were born in their foster's neighborhood. She gave mom and the kittens a home in her cat room. From the start they were playful, sweet, and loving. New Beginnings Cat Rescue found them a home at three months. Sadly, after two years, the adopter’s situation changed and they were returned to us. Fortunately, their original foster was able to take them back in. Now that they have had a chance to decompress and adjust to the change in their living situation, they are ready to find a new forever home. Together since birth, they are bonded and will need to be adopted together.

Lyra is shy and frightened in new places. She will initially withdraw and hide. Luna, the braver sister, reassures her. Soon they feel happy and secure. As Lyra gains confidence, she will seek your attention and playtime. She is talkative and will welcome you with her “hello” meows. Often she will purr and roll on her back looking up at you for attention. She is so smart! She sits on the floor near her foster's chair watching her. She'll ask, “Lyra, would you like to come up?” She does! The back of this comfy chair is her favorite spot. At naptime, she gently stretches out behind her foster mom's head purring as she falls asleep. She is such an amazing cat! Special note: she loves all flavors of Temptations dry treats.

Lyra is microchipped and currently in a foster home. Her adoption fee is $105.
