My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Just look at this face! You might find it hard to believe but Franklin’s personality even outshines his adorableness. Franklin loves people and is just about the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet! This charming tuxedo loves to curl up with you on the couch for cuddles and, more than anything, he loves to be pet—everywhere—on his chin, head, belly, and back. He’ll purr endlessly whenever you dote on him and makes large, happy biscuits to communicate his gratitude.

Franklin is very chatty and outgoing, even with strangers, welcoming everyone home with big meows and little happy chirps. He isn’t at all shy and quickly stole the show during his foster’s movie night, where over 15 people can’t remember the film’s plot but won’t forget Franklin’s grin, smudge goatee, and lovable requests for affection. When he isn’t snuggling, Franklin loves playing with a mouse on a string and like the best of the best cats, bird watching out the window.

Franklin, estimated to be around 5-6 years old, was rescued in the winter of 2023, having survived outside for an unknown length of time after he was abandoned. Back indoors where he belongs, Franklin's health is great now after being nursed back to health. Franklin is FIV positive, has had all his teeth removed, and is on one medication every other day as well as a limited-ingredient diet due to a food allergy. It might sound like a lot, but Franklin is so easy going that giving meds, going to the vet -- all of it was easy. Plus, he's such a love bug.

FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) is a lentivirus, a slow-progressing virus that can compromise a cat’s immune system, reducing their ability to fight off illnesses. That said, most FIV positive cats live long, healthy, and happy lives! To keep FIV positive cats healthy, annual vet checkups are recommended (as they are for every cat), and if he exhibits any signs of illness, a vet visit is in order then too. Of course, since all of his teeth have already been removed, there will be no dental bills in your future!

The joy Franklin will provide you with as your forever buddy and companion will make his extra needs seem insignificant. Franklin will do great as your one and only, although he was being fostered with another cat and was indifferent to her, so homes with another cat will be considered.
