My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, there my name is Nikyta,

They call me Niky for short. I am a young pup who is very calm for my age. I still like to chew things but if you give me a good chew toy that works for me. I am still growing so I will likely end up being a medium size dog around 45 lbs./23 kgs or so.

I am pretty active and love my walks and playing frisbee on the beach.

I am still learning so many new things and would love a family of my own who would take the time to teach me the right way to do things. I am pretty good walking on a leash but of course, I prefer to be off leash to be free to run.

I can be a bit shy with other dogs that I don't know but once I get to know them we can play, play, play!

If you are looking to have a great dog who will love you loyally forever, then we could be a great match. Just fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.

Your Niky. To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. There you will see any videos, more photos and details.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is on our website at: https://hope4lapawz.org/adoption-process/

Once approved, we establish transport for your dog and work out delivery which is usually to an airport near your city (unless you are here in La Paz).

Adoption fees are $400 USD and transport fees are typically a flat $300 to any city that Alaska Airlines flies direct from San Diego. Adoptions for dogs to be living in Mexico are $1500 + Transport Fees.

Dogs traveling outside of Mexico are certified and have all appropriate documentation, shots, tests, and exams. In addition to the rescuing and medical rehabilitation of these dogs, we have regular training classes for the dogs to encourage socialization as well as leash and crate training while they are in their foster homes awaiting adoption.

Our adoption team supplies information, and tools, recommended training books. They also perform periodic adoption follow ups and assistance for adoptive families. We want each of our dogs to be set up for success in their new home. Our goal is to provide adopters with a complete package of rescue, care, and adoption support to promote a successful, happy life for you and your new dog.

If you have any other questions, you can contact a member of our Adoption Team at adoptions@hope4lapawz.org and we’ll get right back to you.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs are all in foster homes - but potential adopters can see them online at https://hope4lapawz.org/adoptions.

We publish videos and we will do online video chats as well. If you find a dog you think you might like to adopt, we will work with you personally to determine if it is a good fit.

If you are near La Paz and would like to meet some of our animals, contact us adoptions@hope4lapawz.org.

More about this rescue

We are an all-volunteer organization in La Paz, BCS, Mexico, and include local community of rescuers (called "rescatistas"). Dogs that are rescued from the streets are fostered in homes where they are treated as members of the family. They are often fostered with other dogs and sometimes cats and children.

Our organization encourages more in the community to rescue and foster by offering a support system of food, medical care, and professional training. As rescuers get involved, they educate their neighbors, family, and friends about the importance of proper animal care, spaying/ neutering, and thus help to break the cycle of abuse and neglect.

We are always in need of volunteers here in Mexico, in the US, and in Canada. Visit our volunteer page for more details about getting involved -- so you can help us make a difference! https://hope4lapawz.org/volunteer/

Thank you for your support!
