My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION!
Waynesboro, Va.

On behalf of Virginia Paws for Pits, We are proud to announce that Simba is ready to start the search for his forever home! Simba is a 6-7 year old mini-man who is love-a-BULL, hug-a-BULL and adopt-a-BULL! This little guy packs a whole lot of personality and excitement into just 50 pounds of sheer cuteness!

A product of divorce, Simba found himself returned to our local shelter where he was adopted from as a puppy. Short staffed and overwhelmed, this was not the place for an active, intelligent dog to thrive and so he languished for four months. When Virginia Paws for Pits heard he was at risk, they sprang into action and made his plight public! Because we had an extra spot in our kennel, we were happy to be able to give Simba a place to hang while we all work together to help him find a new family.

Simba is full of love and adores people! He's full of life and energy and NEEDS a fenced yard to romp and play and express his joy! He is not good with cats or small animals. He has lived with a dog in the past and seems to be ok with other dogs but....he is very excitable and would need slow introductions, supervision and caution to place in a home with other dogs. Simba's not so lovely quality is pulling on his leash like an idiot when he is over excited. That's why he has to have a fenced yard and an owner who is willing to make sure he gets the balance of exercise and calming structure that he needs to be successful. (No small kids, please. They would be over stimulating for Simba and he might accidentally bowl them over like pins at the bowling alley.)

Simba is available to adopt through Virginia Paws for Pits. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for internal and external parasites. His adoption fee is $200 which helps them care for all of the dogs who enter their program AND pays for two visits with Christopher Kirtley of Southern Hospetality, LLC. located in Afton, Va (therefore, a local adopter is strongly preferred.)

Please apply to give Simba the life we know he deserves at www.virginiapawsforpits.org or email applyvpfp@gmail.com for more information.

Please help us find Simba a family by sharing this post far and wide!

Additional adoption info

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
