My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

-Written by Peep, an 18-week-old, 21lb female Aussie mix.
---------------------------------------------

Ever since I was just a little pup, I have dreamed of a forever home. As soon as I was old enough to find a home, I was waiting expectantly each day. Just thinking that my forever family would be driving down that road and taking me home soon. I was part of a bigger litter, and it is a little hazy to me right now on if some of my siblings found their homes while I was with my first owners or not. What I do remember is our owner loading my siblings and I up, and driving us to the animal shelter. They surrendered us there, and left us.

I know that they were not meant to be my forever family, but I was still crushed. Now, I wasn't even in a home anymore. Now, I was in the shelter and I had heard that you can catch some scary diseases at the shelter. Especially when you are young like me. I was hoping that I would get adopted quickly, but while some of my siblings did...I didn't. I was already starting to get worried that no one wanted me, when I heard a rescue and tagged me. Turns out it was PPFT, and soon after I ended up in a wonderful foster home.

Now that I have entered my foster home, I realize that I never truly got to live yet. I was an outside dog in my last home and only knew that. Since coming to my foster home I have figured out that I love this thing called A/C. I have also come across these things called "toys." I find them interesting because there are so many of them and they all look so different. It wasn't until I saw the other dogs play with them that I realized what they are, and am now starting to play with them too. I know what fetch is, but at this time I don't really think it is my thing. I would love the chance to splash around in some water and see how I like it, but have not had the opportunity yet. I am on the calmer side for a puppy I would say, but definitely still have my playful spurts.

I do really enjoy having another dog around to play with and keep me company. I am definitely learning a lot from the. I think I would be happiest in a home with another dog, but if my new family were home a lot I may also thrive as an only dog. I am curious about the cat in my foster home, but for the most part, leave her be. I know most puppies and kids love one another, but I am definitely nervous of kids. I think I may have had a bad experience with one in my past life possibly. I have come around with the kids in my foster home now, but it was an adjustment period. I would do best in a home where new kids are not constantly coming in and out. And if my new family had kids, I would like them to be older so they can be patient with me and help build my confidence and trust with them.

I think adventures are cool, but I am still getting used to the car. I am calm in it, but definitely a little nervous still. My foster is working with me on the leash, and I have even gotten to go on a few walks. I do pretty well, but am on the more timid side so am working on building my confidence. I am still timid in new situations, but my foster mom says I have really started to blossom lately. I think if my new family wanted to take me places and were willing to continue my socialization...I would one day enjoy going places with them. I have yet to be hiking yet, but I do love being outdoors so think it would be fun. You could say that I never really got out in my last home, which means I wasn;t exposed to new people or new things. As much as I love people, I can still be timid around them initially. I have really started to open up lately with new people, but as I mentioned above...I hope my new family is ready to keep exposing me to new things and people so I can overcome my nervousness. I do love getting to meet new dogs and am usually excited and happy to say hello.

I don't know if I would be a good fit for a family living in an apartment. You see, I am not the biggest fan of the kennel and can be quite vocal once you initially put me in there. I am working on my potty training and doing well with that. I am not a big chewer, but I am still a puppy. And if my family leaves their shoes out....well lets just say I may sneak off with one. I may bark when I hear something or when I am left alone initially.

That is all I have to share about myself. I really hope that we are a match. The app to adopt me can be found at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Please I am begging you though, only apply to adopt me if you can keep me forever. If you can't keep me through ALL of my life's changes, don't be the one that makes me have to be passed around a few months/years down the line. That just isn't fair to me.

I would NEVER give up on you, so please don't give up on me. I want to be your forever...not your until dog.

FROM HER FOSTER MOM ↓

~Peep has an incredible sweetness about her. She has a gentle disposition and loves other dogs. When she sees the people she loves her whole body wags! You can see in the pictures she has the cutest puppy dog eyes. She will need someone who will offer her patience and opportunities to be socialized. She can be a little slow to warm up to new people. She has been fostered around kids but prefers they are slow and gentle with her. She is just the cutest pup who loves to be near her people. She loves a good ear rub and to lay on the floor and watch TV. She loves playing in the yard with her dog friends and following her foster dad around the house and yard.

Peep would love a home with kind humans that will continue to work on her socialization. She LOVES having a playful dog friend around but would be okay as an only dog too. Peep would prefer a family with older kids or no kids. She is still a little nervous of little ones. She would like a family that is home a lot~
