Hi there - my name is Zaro! I have one of the cutest faces that you've ever seen with a strong chin that looks like I may have some Persian genes. I love to eat & I really like crunchy treats. I came to CAWS after being found by a nice couple that wanted to keep me & even took me to their vet. I tested positive for FIV, which really isn't a big deal, but they had indoor/outdoor cats & I need to be an indoor only boy. I can live successfully with other cats as long as we get along & we get our regular vet care. But honestly, I believe I would prefer to be an only cat so I don't need to be defensive & or worry about sharing your attention. I've haven't been around dogs or kids so I don't know what I think about them. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
