My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Moose. The funniest thing bout me is that I'm a big boy with a little meow. I lived all of my life outside in a cat colony & my caregivers had no idea that I was friendly because I was standoffish & kept my distance. When my mouth looked like it hurt, I was trapped & taken to the vet...where it turned out I had to have ALL of my teeth removed. The best thing that came of that is we discovered that I love people and I'm trying to make up for lost time by getting all the human attention now so I think a single cat home would be wonderful. I am FIV+ but don't let that scare you, I can live a long life with good food & care from my humans. I've never been around dogs but I like humans of all ages. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
