My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Say hello to Hailey!

She is a very sweet and happy dog that would love an active family. Playing catch is her thing AND she also loves the water and her stuffy toys! She didn't have much exposure to the world or other animals in the early years of her life. But she has worked with a wonderful trainer and has learned to be social with other dogs again. Her ideal home would be quiet and relaxed. She does take time to warm up to new people but once you earn her trust... she is a total wiggle butt who wants to play!

Hailey does not need another dog in her furever home. She would be happy as your one and only OR to have one other doggie friend who is more submissive. As always, a meet and greet is required with your current dog. We have also recently found out that Hailey can live with a cat. Her current foster has a senior kitty who she pays no attention to so we believe that older kitties who mind their business (LOL) would be best.

Hailey does have some leash reactivity to other dogs when out for walks so she will need an understanding and firm adopter/handler who will continue to maintain her training. This is easily managed if you follow the guidance of her trainer. Her foster mom walks her daily and it has not been an issue!

Hailey needs a home with structure and routine and a family who will maintain and continue her training. Her trainer is committed to her progress and her new family should be too. Hailey's perfect furever home will have older humans (13+), be active, and take her on adventures.

This beautiful and smart girl would LOVE a second chance. Could you be the family for her?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at diamondunderdogs@yahoo.com to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
