My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rio! This pup, along with his mom (Amara) and 10 other siblings, transferred to us from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility at 6 days of age!
Rio is a kind soul and a gorgeous black beauty! As a follower, it is important that he is following well-behaved dogs and a good leader! He will do best in a home that can provide positive guidance and direction.

Check out Amara & pups' rescue story here:

Health considerations: Rio was diagnosed with a valgus deformity ("knock knee"). Corrective surgery is not required. He may be more prone to develop arthritis in life and is taking joint supplements daily. No changes in exercise are required in the average household.

Additional Note: First photo taken at 1 year of age. Second two photos taken at 6 months of age. Final photo taken at 2 months of age.

Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

More about this rescue

We are a private, specialized, no-kill, 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to providing housing & individualized care to dogs of all breeds.
We cater to their respective temperaments and adopt them into well-matched homes.
Please note that we do not accept dogs from the public (unless they were adopted directly from our rescue) as we pull dogs from larger shelter partners.
