My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Rocky is being listed as a referral and is NOT in the care of the Big Sky Rottweiler foster program.  He is being listed to help find him a new home and the information is that of his current owner.

Rocky is a gorgeous  intact male dog who needs to be neutered and current owner said she would prior to adoption.  He has some behavioral issues at this time.  He is NOT nuetered and is entering his terrible twos and is not getting the time needed to work with him to make him the Rottie he can be.

Here is the information provided
Hello, thank you so much for getting back to me. I am looking to re-home for a couple of reasons. He is a very sweet dog, but he doesn’t like a lot of other dogs; other than the ones we have in our home (chihuahua) whom he adores and is very protective of. So essentially, he is a family dog. Extremely loyal and protective but loving with most people who I accept into my home (although we do start off introductions with a muzzle) My husband does not want to carry the liability of a Rottweiler, he has expressed his concern for this and believes that the dog is potentially very dangerous and could wind up putting everything we’ve worked for at stake. It’s been a point of contention between us, so much so that now there is talk of divorce. On top of this my husband is extremely allergic to his saliva and breaks out in welts so further training is difficult for him. Unfortunately now that divorce is on the table, I also am the main caregiver of our son and my family lives in a different state. Our Rottie is not welcome in their house because of previous attacks between dogs and so me being able to be with my family for support through this time is difficult, travel is difficult as each time I drive between homes is 16hrs which I simply cannot do. I love this dog so much, he is a wonderful companion and such a lover. We are bonded but my life is changing rapidly and I fear I do not have the energy, time or space for him because it is interfering with me being able to take care of me in my time of need. I am not in a rush to rehome him because I really want to find the right home for him. I do not want to find him being discarded or mistreated. I know he needs a real owner who is willing and able to take on the commitment these dogs require. And a stable enough home to keep him for the rest of his life.

He is not yet neutered, we are planning on neutering next month. He is updated on his shots, though we have chose not to do boosters. He recently got his rabies shot and had extreme diarrhea so we are cautious with quantity of shots in a short period.

Rocky is located in Couer De Lane, Idaho, so you will need to contact his current owner to adopt and get more information
