ADOPTED ON 06-01-23 Lately it seems people are forced to make difficult decisions more and more just to survive this economy. People are forced to cut back with rising prices of just about everything. Sadly, we are seeing an increase in one of the hardest decisions anyone would have to make; giving up a beloved pet. Imagine the heartbreak of having to turn your family member in to a rescue, not knowing what will happen to him or her. Imagine how sad, lonely, and abandoned this pet feels, wondering why they were left alone and if their family will ever come back. This is the sad situation Patty is currently in, and we are hoping to find this sweet girl a new, loving home as soon as possible.

Patty is a 6 year old, 10 pound Maltese mix who was surrendered to us recently. Foster mom says she is quite charming and loves to watch every move everyone makes. She is a bit timid at first, but she seems very interested in what’s going on, and warms up quickly to whomever gives her attention.

Patty is in perfect health, is very active, and loves to play outside. She gets along very well with all the other dogs in the home, but enjoys barking at the cats. Because she is in a fenced area, we don’t know if her barking at them is because she wants to play with them or chase them, so a new home with a cat would be questionable and would need close supervision. She is, however, great with children, and has never shown any aggression toward the children she is currently around in any situation so far. We do always stress, regardless of behavior, children and dogs should never be left unsupervised.

All dogs, like humans, have certain traits, however, it is important to know that dogs and humans, regardless of the breed or ethnic group, are all social family oriented and their characteristics are only one of their many awesome qualities.

When making the decision to add a new member to your family, researching breeds is always recommended in order to make the perfect match.

Maltese are affectionate toy dogs and greets everyone as a friend. The irresistible Maltese face' with its big, dark eyes and black gumdrop nose' can win over any skeptic. Maltese are hardy and adaptable pets. They make alert watchdogs who are fearless in a charming toy-dog way, and they are game little athletes on the agility course. Maltese are low-shedding, long-lived, and happy to make new friends of all ages. Sometimes stubborn and willful, they respond well to rewards-based training. Overall, a playful, charming, and gentle breed. This is a sprightly, vigorous dog who excels not only as a companion but also as a therapy dog and but most of all, she loves to be with her people.

If you have never owned a Maltese, dive into the dog breed world with Patty and discover the behavior and personality that makes her such a beloved family member—this breed has got it all and one of the most popular breeds in the USA

We would love to find Patty a new, loving home so her previous family knows she is safe and loved. Party deserves to feel safe and surrounded by a doting family. She a wonderful little girl who will make a great companion to any family!
