My name is Honey!

My husband and I adopted Honey almost 12 years ago when she was a kitten. It quickly became evident she was a territorial cat who only liked the two of us. Seven years later when my daughter was born, Honey was not too pleased at her arrival. We thought over time she would mellow and/or our daughter would learn to ignore her. Neither has happened, and I am concerned Honey is affecting the relationship my daughter has with all other animals.

She is a beautiful cat and is very sweet still to my husband and me, but to most others she is very aggressive. At her last vet visit, they had to use anesthesia to be able to examine her. I have seen her warm up to one other stranger (the cat behaviorist we hired to help) immediately, so I know it can happen. I want her to find the right person who will give her a happier life than she seems to have now with us.
