Meet the handsome Damien!

Damien showed up in a good Samaritan’s back yard and they took him to a local vet who gave him a clean bill of health. We agreed to take him on after finding no mom to TNR or other siblings in their neighborhood. Upon picking him up, we realized he had a small patch of hair missing from the end of his tail and a sore. Damien went to our vet for bloodwork and an exam….it turns out that he had been bitten and had a raging infection in the end of his tail that was beginning to work its way up the bone. Upon further inspection, the end of his tail was dead and we started antibiotics to try to stem the infection. It did not work. We ended up having to amputate his tail so that it wouldn’t reach his spinal column and infect his entire body. He now has a cute, little bob tail that makes him look like a Manx cat and he loves to wag it when he’s happy. It is the cutest!

Damien is more of an independent soul. He gets along with other cats, but really prefers to be with humans. He loves to follow you around and talk to you while you’re working, doing chores…he really doesn’t care. He loves to be silly and won’t say no to a great movie night.
