My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Penny, a beautiful 4 year old, 9 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Grapevine, TX. Only Texas residents will be considered.

Initial Bio 4/11/23: I'd like for everyone to meet this sweet little 4 yr old, 9lb baby girl Penny! Penny came into rescue as a breeder release from the North Texas area. She was a matted, stinky hot mess. She lived outside in crates. This sweet baby girl is learning about new things everyday. She absolutely LOVES the couch. It's the biggest comfiest bed she has ever had. She can jump up but she is not too sure about getting down, she keeps foster mom a lil busy with all of her funny antics. She is also quite the shadow. She absolutely loves to be loved on. That's the first thing we did when she came home. I sat on the couch with her and just rubbed her all over. I had an ulterior motive as she just melted into the cushions. I had a pair of scissors in my other hand and I have been able to cut away a lot of her matting. She is so full of wood, grass, twigs...poor angel. Thankfully tomorrow she will have a spa day at the groomers and I cannot wait to see the true beauty in her. Penny is very smart too. She learns quickly and listens so well. I think she is pretty much house trained as I have not seen her potty inside, except for on the pee pads. She loves going outside but she does like to hurry and do her thang so she can quickly claim the biggest dog bed (couch) and literally sprawl out. Penny is also learning about the basics of toys and treats!! She sees her siblings playing with toys and she has also started to play. Now, she picks up the toy and carries it everywhere in her mouth. She is learning from the others it squeaks, but she is not sure yet how to do those things. Just seeing her carrying the toys melts my heart because she chooses it!!

I think Penny would do good with someone home with her. She deserves to have a momma or a daddy with her to help her grow and become her best in every way. She loves humans and has missed that for 4yrs! I do not know how she is with children yet. She is great with the other dogs and I hope to see her engage in play at some point.

Penny has been to the vet and has been immunized, received her rabies, bordatella, fecal, heartworm and tick borne disease testing, spayed and had a small benign mammary tumor removed. She is now healthy and ready to find her furever.
