My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ben. Big Ben to most, but Little Ben in his own mind. Ben was busted out of the Weatherford Shelter. He’s only a year old - still just a big baby. He arrived at the shelter emaciated and unable to stand. His chest, shoulder, and leg were covered with road rash that gave indications that he was thrown or jumped from a moving vehicle. His left hind leg apparently sustained a serious injury long ago that healed without medical help. He uses that leg for walking and balance but it is obviously weak and somewhat atrophied. That does not slow Ben down one bit. Despite all he’s been thru, Ben is loving and receptive. Ben spends a lot of time in his cozy crate - with toys and a water buffalo horn to entertain himself. We take frequent trips outside on a leash for potty breaks and to stretch and he had yet to meet a stranger. Ben is so enthusiastic in the way he chews his treats he makes me laugh! He is gentle and kind.
