Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Callie!
Quick Facts:
Breed: Catahoula/Bulldog mix. It's a WILD guess, she'd be worth the DNA test.
Age: 12 years young!
Size: 67#, but a bit on the hefty side (shhh, she can't read yet)
Callie was surrendered to a shelter by her elderly owners who didn't feel like they were able to properly care for her any longer. This awesome girl just took heartworm treatment like a champ & is ready to get back out there on the prowl for her forever family!
Callie is a very easygoing girl with a fantastic personality, once you get past her snoring + excessively loud breathing (Brainy, is that you?). Don't let her age deter you, she is a young girl at heart. She will trot around the backyard, with occasional moments of sprinting and zoomies. She will never say no to a good roll in the grass, and displays the tippy-taps of happy feet when it's time to come out of her crate.
We would never tell her this, but she is a bit chonky, so action is being taken to make sure Callie is not overfed. If you have any other critters in the home, she will help herself to any leftover food and lives firmly by the "ask for forgiveness, not permission" rule with anything remotely edible. On her new found fitness journey, Callie has taken a liking to bell peppers of any color, and will politely ask that she get a prize of such after every potty break.
She is a bit of a couch potato and loves to be with her humans and has no concept of personal space. She enjoys car rides and neighborhood walks. She takes her role of yard supervisor very seriously, and will hang out in the backyard while you pull all those pesky weeds. She does know basic commands: sit, come, place, and will follow you around the house waiting patiently for whatever sliver of attention you can spare.
She loves dogs of all sizes and walks well on a leash with little to no pulling. Callie has never met a cat, but thoroughly enjoys the company of humans in all shapes and sizes. She is house and crate trained AND even kennels on command at bedtime - though she seems to do well outside of her crate unattended, and prefers you leave the crate door open, if possible.
