My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Raydar the One-Eared wonder!

Raydar is officially our longest-term dog. We have had him for 95 days, and in that time this boy hasn't had much interest.

As you can tell, this boy definitely isn't a Great Pyrenees. But he is a German Shepherd, and given that both breeds start with a G...we figured why not 😜

Great Pyrenees tend to be more independent and aloof. That definitely isn't the case with Raydar. This guy is a SOCIAL BUTTERFLY. So much so, that one day he snuck down to the park behind the foster's house and crashed a birthday party. I say crash, but he was probably the highlight of the party! He was over there eating cake, wearing party hats, and acting like he was on of the kids. He was definitely the star of the show and when his foster came to collect him he had no regrets. He just gave her a big ole lopsided grin!

Raydar loves other dogs and he loves to play. When Raydar plays he can be a talker and sometimes he gets a bit loud so the other dog(s) in the home should love to play and not get offended by his noisy grumbles during play! Raydar is on the more energetic side in that he is always up for an adventure. Hikes, Walks, Public Outings, Trips to the Lake, and Road Trips...count him in! However, once his energy is out he is an expert napper and has no problem settling down once everyone else has too.

Raydar has good house manners and is potty trained. He is familiar with a doggie door, but will definitely need a tall privacy fence. Otherwise, you might just be the ones to get the call that he crashed a birthday party 🤪Raydar does take his position as a loyal companion seriously, and part of that job is making sure that he keeps you safe. He will definitely alert you to people outside the home, loud noises, and suspicious activity.

Raydar does only have one "normal" ear. The other is very small and never fully developed. While we believe it does affect his hearing some, it really does not limit him in any way. In fact, Raydar is one smart cookie and already knows several commands such as sit, stay, and down! Given how smart and receptive he is to training, I can only imagine all the fun things his new adopter could teach and do with him!

If you have to be a responsible adult and say no to another dog, then be sure to spread the word about this boy! You never know which one of your friends might just fall in love! And BONUS, you get to meet him and puppy sit if your friend adopts him ;) <3

If you are interested in offering Raydar a forever home, you can apply to adopt him at
https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Once this app comes in, it will be sent to her foster family. This is to help ensure that it is not only a good fit for you, but Raydar as well.

Raydar is being fostered in McAlester, OK. If you have fallen in love with him and are out of state, how about a road trip? We don't send our fluffy butts on commercial transports. So, if you want one of our amazing fluffy butts, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma 😉

His adoption fee is $250.00.
That will include his DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. He will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
