My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You want mellow and loving? Sol's your cat!

He's a sweet, sweet cat - very friendly, even-tempered, and affectionate. He welcomes your attention but is not demanding. His fur is velvety and he likes being petted. He's be thrilled to sit on your lap!

He gets along fine with other cats & enjoys playing (nicely!) with them.

Sol was born in May of 2018.

Our application can be downloaded at https://rappcats.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Adoption-Application-v20210422.pdf We can usually complete an adoption within 2 business days after we receive your application.   We require a vet or personal reference and will conduct a home visit.

Our standard adoption fee of $150 offsets the costs of medical services and supplies so our cats are healthy and ready for adoption.  If two cats are adopted, the adoption fee for the second can be lowered or waived.

RappCats is a non-profit organization that helps stray, abused, abandoned and unowned cats in Rappahannock County. We are strictly no-kill. If they are old enough, all our cats are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered. We are also in constant need of foster homes to care for cats awaiting adoption. For more information or to adopt, call or text us at 540.987.6050 or email us adopt@rappcats.org.

More about this shelter

We operate the only state-approved cat shelter in Rappahannock County, relying entirely on private funds. Our shelter is no-kill. We euthanize out of human compassion only those cats that are suffering and cannot be saved.

Our shelter is also cage-free. The cats live, eat and sleep in large open spaces with each other. They are beloved to our dedicated volunteers.

Our dedicated volunteers also help the residents of our rural county to spay/neuter cats; rescue, and provide shelter and medical care for stray, abandoned and injured cats; and find loving homes for homeless cats.

All RappCats cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and healthy (unless otherwise noted).
