My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***** *The First step to adoption is to fill out our adoption application from our website to adopt Romeo.

Copy and paste this link below, We will also include his care package listed below.

https://nwparrotrescue.org/applications/adoption-application

Romeo is a free full flighted Cockatoo, and we will only rehome him with someone who can allow him to fly. If he gets clipped again, he falls into depression!

Romeo will be a great companion for a single individual or family. He loves to free fly, so a larger home would be desirable for his new home. We have discovered that when he has his wings clipped, he gets very depressed and nippy, and bites hard sometimes if gets clipped. So we're seeking a homeowner who can allow him to fly free. We feel that Romeo would thrive best in a home with no children or other animals.

Romeo loves his head scratches and loves to spend time in your lap for affection.

The best trait about Romeo is that can be trusted to stay on top of his cage all day long. Then he will climb back inside when he’s ready to go to bed.

Romeo has always had a man as his companion. Romeo feels most comfortable in the main room of a house during the day. Romeo would love to be able to sleep in a cage in a bachelor's bedroom every night if possible.

**We have temporarily lowered the adoption fee to make room for other orphaned parrots that have been on our long incoming waiting list for a while.**

We are only placing parrots with qualified adopters. Please read the qualifications to adopt this bird.

Qualified adopters must be stable and within the age range of 30 to 65 years old to adopt Romeo. Most experienced adopters know that large parrots can live between 40 to 80 years, or longer with proper exercise, diet, and care.

Not mandatory, but we would only place parrots with those who have parrot experience.

*We will not place parrots with anyone who shares a wall with their neighbor.

We prefer to place parrots in a home without any children present, for both the safety of the child and to prevent the parrot from bonding with the child and feeling lonely when the child leaves the home. *There are rare exceptions to this policy. If you have children with large parrots currently, then apply, and we will discuss the possibility to adopt.
