My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rio is a spunky, adorable little dude. He is only 9 lbs, and the vet is estimating his age somewhere between 6-10.

Rio is a sweet boy most of the time, but he does need his space, particularly at first. It takes him some time to trust people, so he can be nippy if he doesn't know you, and you pick him up or get too much in his space. Once he gets to know you, this gets much better. No kids for him!

Rio does need boundaries established from the beginning, as he can get possessive of his person or his space, and get jealous when other dogs or people are near his person or his space. With boundaries established from the beginning, this doesn't happen as much (he is currently in a foster home and loves both of his foster parents equally!)

He gets along with other dogs in a social setting, but because of his jealousy, would do best in a home as an only dog, or, with someone who knows how to set these boundaries for him to prevent the jealousy.

Rio loves to snuggle, but we recommend letting him come to you when hes ready for a cuddle session!

Rio is house trained and walks well on a leash.
