My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/
We must have an application to move forward.

In foster in lacey, WA.

She looks just like a smooth coat border collie.

MAGGIE is very playful but a little bit shy with new people. She loves dogs and loves to be right by her humans too. Like a typical BorderCollie. We think she is a submissive dog with other dogs. . She is very sweet and loves affection. She is crate trained and almost house trained. She makes it through the night and the foster lets her out asap in the AM and she runs out quickly. She and her brother, Sonny, love to play in the baby pool and splash water. Even though the vet guesses that they are part Border Collie... there has got to be some Lab because of their love of water. The foster says they are very smart...learn quickly...very affectionate. They love to play with the other dogs in the family...for hours!

DOB: 1/22/23. We expect Maggie to get to be about 55#s when grown.

What her foster parent says
She's an active dog like most pups! She'd be great with kids (probably even small ones) or with someone who likes to walk/jog a lot.

She has encountered both of my cats now, and was fine with them.

She's been out back (on leash, of course,) with the chickens. She shows great promise for being trained to get along with them. She's curious, but not aggressive.

So far, she has been EXTREMELY responsive to commands like "drop it" and "no". This is a dog that will be easy to train.

No messes in the kennel. She does not want to be kenneled when there's activity, but will happily walk into it when she feels like resting.

Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.

If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060.

Adoption Fees
The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting.

All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.

HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/

This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose.

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
