Other important info about me: I was originally adopted from the shelter as a young kitten in May 2023 and surrendered back to the shelter due to allergies in the family. The shelter staff suspect that my family was not very nice to me, because when I arrived back at the shelter I had an injured tail, was very dirty and scratched up, and I was quite scared and defensive. Despite these heartbreaking circumstances, I still wanted affection, even if it was scary or hard for me to accept it. My tail has since healed and I have become a wonderfully social and loving cat, but many things can still be frightening for me. For that reason, I need to find a new home that is on the quiet and calm side, without young kids, and preferably with someone who has experience with cats. If you are patient with me and give me time to settle in, I will reward you with lots and LOTS of affection! I appear to be friendly with other cats and dogs.

Their adoption process

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We are open Tues-Fri 8 am-4 pm and Sat 10 am-2 pm. If no one is at the shelter during open hours, please call 281-576-2417 for assistance.

2.
Meet the Pet

We require all adopters to spend time with the pet they are interested in to make sure he/she is a good match!

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

All adopters must sign an adoption contract, which may require rabies vaccine and/or spay/neuter for your new pet, if not already completed.

4.
Pay Fee

Adoption fees vary from $10-$50, depending on the pet. We accept cash (exact change required), check, or card.

5.
Take the Pet Home

And that's it! You are now the proud owner of a new furry family member and will take your pet home right away.

Additional adoption info

-We do not require an application to adopt! However, adopters are required to meet with pets at the shelter to ensure they are a good fit. Our staff will always strive to make the best possible matches between pets and adopters!
-Seniors for Seniors: Adopters age 65+ can adopt any pet age 7+ for free!
-All adoptions are on a first come, first served basis. We do not hold pets for adoption or pickup at a later time.
-We do not transport or ship pets. All adoptions must take place in person at the shelter.
