My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

END OF JULY ADOPTION SPECIAL: every kitty who goes home before August 1, will go home with a case of wet food and a new cat bed.

Hello, hello! I am so very excited to introduce myself. My name is Fubarabara and I am a 2-year-old, female cat who is an absolute sweetheart and possibly the luckiest cat on the planet. You see, I came to the rescue after I had been hit by a car and left on the side of the road to die. I'll spare you some of the graphic details but I had severe trauma to my face and head. I ended up losing one eye and losing the vision in the other, then I had extensive jaw surgery to fix my fractured upper jaw. After weeks of healing and tube feeding, I'm finally ready to find my forever home. Despite my challenges, I am just the sweetest and most loving girl out there. All I want is to curl up in your lap and get my head kissed and get some cheek scritches. I'm so affectionate, laid back and cuddly that words don't even describe it. You can see how much I reach up when I'm snuggling my foster mom to get kisses. In fact, I love getting love from people SO much that I don't want to share my humans with anyone. My ideal household would just be me and the people who are there to pay attention to me 24/7. I have an adorablly loud purr, and can be equally as loud when I am chatty. I like to talk, so I hope you do too. My foster mom tells me that I'm a heat-seeking missile. As long as she calls to me, I will find her wherever she is in the house and make myself comfortable on her lap. I hope you have a big bladder because I will stay there for hours on end - good luck getting up. Though I'm a bit dramatic sometimes, I like to think my sweetness cancels that out. I am blind but I do very well navigating my foster home, including going up and down stairs and always finding my litterbox. Sometimes I do meow at the wall thinking it's someone who will pet me. I do sometimes find myself in a strange spot - my foster mom occasionally finds me hanging out in the potted plant by her fireplace. Maybe I think I'm adventuring through a forest? I should also mention that I'm a polydactyl. This means that I have extra toes on all my feet. My front paws look like big mittens. I promise if you want a lifetime of love and affection, I'm your girl. Please apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $110. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
