Balto (born: 2/24/2021) is an affectionate, friendly, playful, Siberian Husky who weighs 52 pounds and is housebroken. Balto was transferred to HSNY from a kill shelter in Texas, because as a breed that is comfortable in colder weather, Texas would be too hot for him. Balto enjoys going for walks, meeting people, having his coat brushed, giving kisses and most of all – a good belly rub!
We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us.
